Help us survey for birds in the Macedon Ranges!
About the surveys
We will be heading out to various sites to conduct surveys with expert guides. The day will start with a hot breakfast at Bald Hill Reserve. We will discuss the benefits of the bird surveys and the process we will be using.
Afterwards, participants will break away into smaller groups. Each group will have atleast one bird expert to record the species and help others with identification. We will allocate you to a group prior to the event.
Surveys will be undertaken within one of the six bio-links as described in Council's Biodiversity Strategy. These bio-links are throughout the shire and participants will be expected to carpool to each destination for the surveys.
What to bring

The weather
We plan to undertake the surveys in rain, hail or shine. The only reason we would cancel would be if the weather is predicted to be dangerous.
Catering
We will provide all that attend with a free breakfast on arrival. For lunch, a free special picnic hamper will be provided to each participant, so you can enjoy a picnic at one of the survey sites.
Finding the meeting location
We will meet at Bald Hill Reserve Gun Club. There are three access points to Bald Hill Reserve. Remember to access the meeting area via the Pipers Creek Road entrance. Bald Hill Reserve is sometimes referred to as the Kyneton Rifle Range.
